This paper studies the "empty" cultural factors in the classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, summarizes and extracts its characteristic cultural elements and applies them to design practice to verify the feasibility, aiming to increase the connotation of traditional Chinese culture for modern design. First of all, it summarizes the manifestations of Zen "emptiness" thought in the classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. Then, combine the two to extract four cultural factors from the classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River: mountains and rocks—“empty space”, water bodies—“empty spirit”, paths—“emptiness and silence”, and meanings—“empty nature”, using the semantic method to analyze the design form and cultural connotation of each factor. Finally, the most important cultural factors are screened out by using the analytic hierarchy process, and the selected cultural factors are evolved by using shape grammar and applied in the practice of tea tray design, which not only seeks new ideas for the innovation of modern design, but also promotes the inheritance of traditional culture, and new directions were explored.

Nowadays, rural tourism has gradually been widely noticed, while rural revitalization has also become an important argument. This phenomenon basically occurs after a country's economic development has reached a certain height, which shows that economic development has an extremely close relationship with rural tourism and revitalization. This article would explore the linkage between them, taking the proper understanding of the root cause as basic and starting the research on the construction of beautiful countryside. Then propose relatively reliable development countermeasures and models to facilitate the development of rural tourism and rural revitalization.

Since the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy, culture plays an increasingly important role in rural areas. The innovation of culture itself is the driving force to promote rural development, the connection between culture and industry is the core driving force of rural revitalization, and the combination of culture and tourism is a new economic growth point of rural revitalization. Due to its picturesque and poetic, open and innovative, delicate and beautiful cultural characteristics, as well as its developed economic level, rich cultural characteristics and profound industrial foundation, Jiangnan culture has become a pilot zone for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. However, it is also faced with some problems, such as contradiction with foreign culture, poor integration with ecological environment, disconnection with rural industry and dilution of folk customs. From the perspective of the integration of Jiangnan culture into rural areas, this paper puts forward an overall design method for rural areas, and believes that the rural areas in Jiangnan need to do a good job in the picturesque design of rural styles, the original design of rural landscapes, the delicate design of rural features and the innovative design of rural customs. It also puts forward specific design strategies for the "refinement" of Jiangnan architecture, the "color" of Jiangnan folk houses, the "auspicious" of Jiangnan texture and the "auspicious" of Jiangnan space, so that Jiangnan culture can play a greater role in inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting the development of local rural tourism and rural revitalization.

Rural landscape transformation is a new topic proposed around the goal of new rural construction under the background of the national rural revitalisation strategy. By analysing the overall landscape situation of villages and towns at the present stage in China, this paper discusses the problems and causes of the current rural landscape system in Gansu Province from two perspectives of rural landscape cultural elements excavation and village landscape spatial layout. It combines the relevant rural projects to propose practical solutions to improve further the landscape design of small towns in Gansu counties and propose practical solutions to provide a reference for such research in similar areas in the future. On a macro level, the starting point should be to explore the morphological characteristics of Gansu's regional characteristic human landscape, rationalise the use of land resources and improve the quality of village habitats; on a micro level, the corresponding functional zoning and structural layout schemes should be constructed according to the characteristics of different types of townships themselves, in order to meet the specific needs at each stage. Finally, the optimisation process and its implementation's effects are introduced in detail, with some typical examples involved in the case. It will also serve as a reference for the rural landscape design along the Silk Road, which is still in the exploratory stage. It helps to raise the importance of governments at all levels, accelerate the rapid development of the regional economy, and improve the enthusiasm and initiative of the farmers' living standards, thus promoting social harmony and stability. Moreover, through the application of theory in practice, the complete excavation of the rural humanities landscape of Linze County Banqiao Townland, village, cultural resources status quo, to the road, field, forest, water, house, village, a tour of seven rural core elements as the construction of the grasp, the use of modern technology to achieve landscape ecological restoration, environmental remediation, the formation of a relatively complete "full-area tourism + field complex ". The project will not only drive the sustainable and healthy development of the local economy and society but will also become an essential carrier for improving the ecological environment, nourishing water sources, protecting natural resources, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of villagers, promoting farming civilisation and promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilisation, thus achieving the purpose of maximising the development value.

For the communication of rural culture, visual symbolic communication is one of the most direct and effective ways. Rural culture has strong regional characterization and the external expression of landscape appearance. This paper analyzes and refines rural cultural colors, rural folk culture, and natural culture to explain the uniqueness of the countryside and the cultural connotation behind it. It is proposed that combining rural culture with local brands and products not only protects the characteristics of traditional villages but also gives a regional cultural system to new products. We interpret the representative elements of rural cultural symbols to reveal the local and cultural concepts embedded in the local society, integrate the rural regional culture into the visual symbols so that the public can feel the cultural implications more intuitively, and achieve the effect of promoting and spreading the rural culture, as well as providing the impetus for the development of the rural economy. To achieve the visionary development goal of the countryside, so that the rural culture with its vernacular, tradition, differences, and uniqueness can be preserved and continued.
